Often customers do not know which way to proceed when selectig a Tig Welder so here are just a few pointers.
1. Consider if you will be Welding aluminium. If so you will require an AC Welding current therefore you will need to purchase an Ac Dc Tig Welder.
2. Consider if you will be Welding very thin material at less than 1.5mm thickness. If so you will be better served by purchasing a pulse capable Welder. Pulsing will assist in controlling the heat and prevent blow through. Pulse welder
3. Consider portability. Will you be climbing ladders or working in locations within the welding environment? If so you may only need to go for something small and portable without HF, without AC. Inverter Tig Welder
4. Consider your budget. Sometimes a DC Tig Welder with HF arc start is a better way to go because they are far less expensive than the AC/DC machines. You can always upgrade later on if you feel you have been bitten by the welding bug.
5. Talk to someone that has welded. Ask them what they think.
6. By the time you approach a sales rep about your next Tig Welder purchase you should already know what you are after, this way you will get what you want and not what they want to sell you.
